The annual employment tribunal statistics were published recently.
Contrary to the assumptions in the tabloid press, the statistics show that the total number of claims to the Employment Tribunals continues to decrease. In 2010/2011 the Tribunals received 218,000 claims, whereas in 2011/2012 186,000 claims were received. The number of unfair dismissal claims in particular has reduced from 47,900 to 46,300.
