The new Ipswich Town Centre plan has been published for consultation with responses due by 23 December 2011. Reproduced below is a message from the Economic Development team at IBC.
The Town Centre Master Plan provides a view of what Ipswich Borough Council and stakeholders agree is the way forward to achieve an enhanced town centre in Ipswich. The Plan takes us through to 2026.
This is a Draft Plan, which is open for consultation until 23 December 2011. All your views are welcome.
The aim is to enhance, remodel and develop the town centre, delivering a programme of regeneration and renewal, which builds on the aspirations to be a regional centre for shopping and culture.
Sustainability is key to the development of the town centre in the future, providing a healthy vibrant environment for businesses and retailers as well as an attractive place for people to socialise and enjoy a variety of entertainment during the day and at night.
Your views will be taken into account during the final decision-making process for improvements to the town centre.
A full version of the Master Plan and an online form for your feedback is available at www.ipswich.gov.uk/consultations from Monday 14 November.
The Economic Development Team will be in the former Clinton Cards unit at Tower Ramparts from Monday 14 November until Saturday 19 November from 11.30 - 14.30.
Many thanks,
The Economic Development Team
Ipswich Borough Council
