I qualified in 2001 and so have many years of experience and have specialised in matrimonial and family law. I help clients with all matters that can arise from the breakdown of their personal relationships. The range can therefore be extensive.
I advise on the whole spectrum of financial settlements including the average to high net worth settlements within divorce proceedings. I have also advised clients through the Court process and represented them at Court hearings. I also recommend that clients try alternative approaches to resolving disputes, by using round table meetings which can be more time and cost effective for all parties.
In relation to couples who have separated, I advise them on property issues and matters involving children. I assist in being able to reach a positive outcome for the parents but also for the children who are often at the centre of the dispute. I have also dealt with High Court cases involving children with special medical needs and whether they should or should not be subject to medical treatment. I have also extensively advised parents and family members on contact, residence, education and removing children from England to go and emigrate abroad.
I assist clients in safeguarding their own interests before entering into a marriage or living with their partner. I have prepared Pre-Nuptial Agreements and Cohabitation Agreements. This can save considerable time and money for parties in planning what would happen in the event of the marriage/relationship breakdown. Declarations of Trust can also be useful in situations where couples are buying a property in their joint names perhaps where there is an unequal contribution towards the purchase price. Again it can save time and money in the future should there be a dispute that arises between a couple. Post-Nuptial Agreements can also be prepared after parties have married in order to safe guard their assets in the event that the marriage may break down at some point in the future.
Recently I have undertaken an interesting and developing area of the law, namely Dissolution of Civil Partnerships. I am able to advise as to the process and the resolution of the financial settlement, as well as preparing Pre-Civil Partnership Agreements to safeguard assets in the event of a partnership breakdown.
Dealing with the breakdown of a personal relationship can be a very worrying and emotional time for people. I hope that my friendly and supportive approach is one that clients call on when going through a divorce or relationship breakdown. I am understanding but I give down to earth, robust and appropriate advice. I am also a member of Resolution. I feature in the Legal 500.
I was recently promoted to Partner at Gotelee's and believe that this reflects on my ability to provide client's with appropriate and sensible advice at all times.
I feature in the recent Legal 500 publication which praises me for my reassuring style. I am pleased that the Gotelee Family Team are now ranked in the second tier, having moved up from last years third tier entry. This shows that we at Gotelee are committed to providing a service that our Clients can rely on and trust and are always looking at making improvements that will benefit our Clients.
When I’m not at Gotelee I enjoy walking and I have climbed Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, and survived! I have a passion for travelling, which I fit in when I am not at Gotelee. Having a cinema pass means that I go to see a lot of films which can be from the serious dramas to the big block busters. I am also currently involved in renovating a property and enjoy the problem solving and planning involved as well as the creative input in making improvements to the property. I do not even mind the hard work involved. I have a keen interest in buying old furniture and renovating it. When I am not doing DIY I like to go to the Theatre and West End to see all the latest shows.
I look forward to meeting you and being of service to you.
