Qualified in 1998, joined Gotelee in 2000 and became a partner in June 2010
I advise clients on the legal aspects of family breakdown including divorce, in particular the financial consequences and options arising from divorce proceedings, separation, co-habitation disputes and the dissolution of civil partnerships. In addition, I advise on and draft pre-nuptial agreements and co-habitation agreements. I am also a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors' Family Law Association) and sit on the local Resolution Committee.
As a member of the Law Society's Children Panel from 2002 to 2007, I have a high level of technical expertise and experience in dealing with disputes relating to children including applications to the court to remove children to other countries from the jurisdiction of England and Wales.
In my career I have dealt with many disputes and court cases relating to children including residence (custody) and contact (access), disagreements relating to education and a child's surname, injunctions, parental responsibility, maintenance, property and care proceedings. I have acted for parents and other family members, including grandparents, step-parents and aunts. I have appeared as an advocate on a regular basis in the Family Proceedings Court and County Court throughout my career.
I trained as a collaborative lawyer in London in 2005 and I play an active role in the local group of practitioners. I have good relationships with barristers and other professionals.
I am described by clients as approachable and I am acknowledged as having a high level of technical expertise and experience. I have handled highly complex High Court litigation relating to children. I have acted in divorce cases where the net assets exceed £1m.
I am meticulous in my approach. I strive to achieve the best outcome for all my clients and I am always frank with them about their prospects of success. I have strong relationships with my clients and I am trusted by them. I enjoy working for them and with them to achieve positive outcomes.
I feature in the recent Legal 500 publication which praises me for my sensitive and trusted style. I am pleased that the Gotelee Family Team are now ranked in the second tier, having moved up from last years third tier entry.
