Graduated from the University of Essex in 1984 and joined Gotelee in 2006
I act for a wide range of business clients from large companies and professional partnerships to sole traders and small family run concerns. You will find that I equally value all of my clients, no matter how big or small, I give all of my clients the same level of care and attention.
I advise on a wide range of business issues, including mergers and acquisitions, director and shareholder relations and commercial contracts and transactions.
My approach is extremely commercial. I can help you to understand the legal implications of your business strategy so you can identify and manage legal risk. I always aim to tell you how to achieve your goals rather than tell you what you cannot do. I work hard to understand the dynamics of my clients’ businesses and to support the directors and managers in achieving their business goals. By taking time to really understand your business I can give you the most commercial and practical advice.
I also act for railway infrastructure contractors providing advice on their contracts with Network Rail. You may think that this is a pretty unusual specialism. It came about because I was part of the legal team at the British Railways Board when the railways were privatised. As part of the privatisation we established 125 companies in 3 years which was no mean feat but it was great experience and led to my career long involvement in railway infrastructure contracts.
Clients have said that I am "very approachable" and "add confidence".
Outside Gotelee, I am a motorbike enthusiast and love to get out on the open road. I am also appointed Authority Governor to Essex County Council for a large secondary school based in Colchester.
I have a wealth of business law experience which I will use to drive your matter forward. I look forward to meeting you and being of service.
