Corporate manslaughter

We are experienced solicitors who can advise on all areas of health and safety law including allegations arising from fatal accidents.

Accidents at work still occur despite the best efforts of the Health and Safety Executive to minimise risk and campaign for safer working conditions for employees. Very occasionally an accident will lead to a fatality. The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 came in to force in 2008 and brought with it new powers to prosecute organisations (including partnerships) which manage or organise their activities in such a way as to cause a person’s death and in circumstances which amount to a gross breach of the duty of care owed to that person.

We are able to advise on all aspects of regulatory enforcement relating to health and safety law (HSE and local authority) including alleged breaches resulting in the most serious of accidents. We offer a service which extends from the date of the accident through to the court appearance, if prosecution follows the investigation.

Where required, we can involve other Gotelee specialists to offer expert advice on related employment or business law issues arising from an accident.

You will find that we are approachable, understanding, sympathetic and practical in the advice that we give. Please telephone or complete the enquiry form.
