Planning and Environmental Services

When you put in your application for an Operators Licence, you can be met with objections/representations on environmental grounds.  You may get an objection from the local authority on road safety issues.

We would suggest that you do not deal with a Public Inquiry involving environmental considerations without our expert help.  On issuing or varying a license, a Traffic Commissioner can attach conditions to attempt to prevent or minimise any adverse affects on the environment arising from the use of authorised vehicles from an Operating Centre.  This is complex legalisation, but in outline the conditions that a Traffic Commissioner can impose are:-

  1. The number, size and type of authorised vehicles which may at any one time be at an operating centre for the purpose of maintenance or parking;
  2. The parking arrangements to be provided for authorised vehicles at, or in the vicinity of, an operating centre;
  3. The times between which any maintenance or movements of authorised vehicles may be carried out at an operating centre and the times at which any equipment may be used for such maintenance or movement; and
  4. The means of ingress to and egress from an operating centre for authorised vehicles.

For complex planning issues, we have an ace up our sleeve.  A true planning expert, Brian Morron, is accredited by the Law Society and part of our team, For specialist planning advice please contact Brian Morron.
