Public Inquiries

If you receive the dreaded “call in” letter you need to consult us immediately for advice.  The letter will refer to one or more of the following:

  • Professional competence
  • Good Repute
  • Financial Standing
  • Breach of Undertakings
  • Environmental Issues
  • Convictions
  • Complaints
  • Maintenance
  • Tachographs

The “call in” letter can sometimes signal the beginning of the end for a business. The operators response to the “call in” letter needs to be immediate and comprehensive.  It is unlikely that you can rescue the situation without our help.

Many operators have retained their 'O’ licence, only because of their performance between “call in” letter and Public Inquiry.  Why struggle through this alone when we can help you implement new systems and put you in touch with outside contractors who can help with maintenance, tyres and tachographs, where a difference can literally be made overnight.  Call us.

Is your problem with your Transport Manager?  Is that why you are at a Public Inquiry?  Your Transport Manager must be able to demonstrate “continuous and effective responsibility”.  Do they have responsibility for more than one licence?  TC Sarah Bell explains “Where a nominated Transport Manager is on other licences, I will need a detailed account of how he or she will exercise continuous and effective responsibility across all the licences”.
