Transfers of Property After Relationship Breakdown

After a relationship breaks down, decisions need to be made about your family home. We can advise on any implications that your relationship breakdown may have regarding your property.  In the event that the matrimonial home is not sold with the sale proceeds being divided, we work closely with our colleagues in the family team to ensure your interests are protected when transferring the property.

Whether the property is being transferred outright to one spouse in exchange for payment of a lump sum or if an interest is being retained, we will advise you of the best options available.  If there is a mortgage secured against the property the lender will need to be involved as their consent to the transfer will be required.

Our friendly, approachable team are more than happy to help, please call us for advice or complete the Enquiry Form.
