Ipswich charity ‘Survivors in Transition’ win lottery funding

We are hugely proud to see that Survivors in Transition, a Suffolk-based charity with whom we are closely connected, have been awarded more than £200,000.00 lottery funding in order to continue offering their services to male and female adults throughout Suffolk who have experienced sexual abuse, violence and exploitation in their childhood.

The lottery funding will allow Survivors in Transition to fund two positions for the next 3 years and will enable them to expand their services across the county.

Survivors in Transition have experienced a tremendous growth in demand for their services in response to the Savile and other high-profile cases which have entered the public domain in recent years.

Fiona Ellis, Survivors in Transition’s Chief Executive said: “the funding is great news. It will enable us to employ skilled, experienced staff to provide advice, guidance and support to people in Suffolk who were sexually abused as children”.

The charity has operated since 2009 and offers a range of services from telephone support, therapy groups and one to one counselling provided by a dedicated team of volunteers and qualified counsellors. The additional funding will enable the organisation to extend its services to more people in Suffolk.

How can our sexual abuse lawyers help you?

We have lawyers who specialise in this area and work closely with Survivors in Transition so are very sensitive to this type of claim.  We also have offices in Ipswich, Hadleigh, Felixstowe, Woodbridge and Melton where you can have an appointment with our specialist sexual abuse solicitors.   If you require further information about the Survivors in Transition charity then please visit www.survivorsintransition.co.uk.
