The issue

Landmark Supreme Court ruling confirmed that the introduction of Employment Tribunal fees in 2013 was unlawful.  The imposition of unlawful tribunal fees had lead to a 70% reduction in the number of claims that were made by employees.  As a result, it is likely that the number of claims brought will increase again.  Employment Tribunal claims are disruptive, potentially costly, and can lead to adverse publicity.
