Gotelee Solicitors has just held its 22nd annual Employment Law Update seminar. The free event at Trinity Park gives companies in Suffolk and North Essex access to a practical updater session in Employment Law, which helps protect them in the workplace and avoid tribunal claims.

The event is aimed at Senior Managers, business people and HR professionals, basically anyone who needs to be up-to-date about the fast-moving world of employment law. Gotelee’ team of Employment Law specialist solicitors bring a complex subject to life, looking at real life cases and then extracting the practical lessons that can be learned. Add liberal doses of humour into the mix throughout, and you can see why this update had proven to be a huge success with delegates:

“Gotelee stop you scoring own goals on HR issues” – Tim Forman, MD, Seven Asset Management Ltd

“I would give them 11 out of 10” – Mike Carter, Owner, Mike Carter Ltd

Delegates use the update as an opportunity to make sure that they are up to speed with all the legislative changes, so that their contracts and policies are compliant.  In addition, the team also give employers the heads up on other changes which are planned – of which there are plenty!

“The seminar prompts me to reflect on the policies I have in place.  I rate Gotelee highly.  The advice is always pragmatic, practical, supportive and expert.” – Jackie Farrall – Head of HR, The Seckford Foundation.

It has become a very well respected, successful seminar and is now a fixed event for a significant number of local employers, large and small, and from all industry sectors.  The regular attendees are a mixture of clients and non Gotelee clients. Some attendees who came to the very first seminar in 1993 are still attending 22 years later.

“I’ve been a customer of Gotelee for 15 years – they are a very professional firm and they give me a great deal of confidence in dealing with some difficult staff challenges.”  – Robin Belsom, Director, Ryan Insurance Group Ltd

Companies/organisations such as Willis, The National Trust, Thompson & Morgan, Jack Sealey Limited and University Campus Suffolk were amongst the crowd.

The speakers at the seminar are all Employment Law specialists at Gotelee – Brian Morron, Andrew West and Marie Allen – and between them have in excess of 60 years experience in advising on employment law issues in the workplace.
