Police crackdown on downloading indecent images of children

Defendants are starting to appear in court following the latest crackdown on using the internet to download indecent images of children.

A man was gaoled last week for 12 months after admitting to three counts of making indecent images of children. The police found two laptops containing one category A film, four category B films, two category C images and 66 images of extreme pornography.

Det Sgt Ashley Howard of Essex police has warned child abusers that “it is only a matter of time before we knock on your door”.

How can our criminal law solicitors help?

The criminal law team at Gotelee, based in Suffolk, is able to advise on any aspect relating to sexual offending.

You may be struggling with an offence of this kind, either before or after police involvement. Perhaps you are the relative of someone under investigation and would like independent and confidential legal advice or guidance on the likely outcome, before or after court proceedings have been commenced. Perhaps you are worried for a relative or friend and need to understand more about the process and the likely outcomes. Whatever the circumstances, we do not judge and we are here to act in your best interests.

Experience tells us that the sooner legal advice is sought, the better the outcome to the investigation and any subsequent court proceedings can be.

Gotelee has offices in Ipswich, Hadleigh, Melton, Woodbridge and Felixstowe.
