Rugby World cup comes to town
Alongside the statue of Prince Alexander Obolensky in Cromwell Square, sat the the Rugby World Cup trophy today.
The Webb Ellis Cup will only visit four locations in the East of England with Ipswich as being one. So the people of Ipswich queued up to have their pictures taken with the 24 carat trophy, which was heavily guarded. Among which Hugh Rowland (our Criminal lawyer) who was playing in the Ipswich Hospital Band at the event and the Gotelee “rugby” touch team who like to think they can play rugby, all had their photos taken with the cup.
There were many rugby and sporty focused activities for all ages and the atmosphere in Ipswich Town Centre was buzzing.
