Paternity and Parental Leave – FAQs
Listed below are questions we are commonly asked:
You need to find out why your request was turned down, so ask your employer to explain why it was. If your employer has unreasonably postponed a period of parental leave or has prevented you from taking parental leave altogether, you can complain to an Employment Tribunal. Your claim must be submitted within three months of the postponement or refusal. Before issuing a claim, you should raise a grievance in writing.
