- Contact the Register Office to register the death – details to take with you
- Deceased’s full name and any previous names
- Date and place of birth
- Deceased’s marital status and details of spouse or civil partner
- Deceased’s usual address
- National Insurance number
- Medical Certificate from the Hospital, GP or Coroner
- Begin Funeral Arrangements
- Find the Will
- Contact Friends and Employer
- Contact Pension Service or Benefits agency
