Dedication to the transport industry
Laura Read joined Gotelee solicitors last December to work within its dedicated road transport team alongside Howard Catherall who is recognised as a leading individual in transport law by the Legal 500.
Miss Read had worked as a specialist litigation lawyer at another local firm and was fast-tracked through several months of intense study to pass her Transport Manager’s Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) exams at the very first time of asking.
Miss Read said: “I am over the moon at getting my CPC. It’s given me an incredible understanding of the road transport sector and how much regulation it has to cope with on a daily basis.
“Having shadowed Howard on his operator licensing and public inquiry work, I’m looking forward to getting stuck in on my own account.”
The qualification also shows the firm’s dedication to the transport sector in Felixstowe in particular with the recent opening of a Gotelee office in the town. Alistair Lang, chief executive officer at Gotelee, added: “I am delighted to see Laura pass these exams in what most will think of as a man’s world. It just goes to show what an interesting mix of individuals we have at Gotelee.
“Offering advice on legal issues with a real background understanding of the industry marks Gotelee out as going that extra mile.”
